Update: 15 Jan. 05
After cooling down and some serious reflection I was tempted to delete this post - and perhaps even a few others wherein I’ve been unduely negative.
I fear, however, that that way, I’d more than likely fall into the same trap again soon. So, in an honest attempt at developing a greater degree of equanimity, I shall desist and hopefully, in future, be able to relent.

Quoting Lucas Gonze:
“a web-hosted player for web-hosted content linked to in web-hosted playlists, and the player, playlist, and songs can all reside on separate servers.”
He’s already got his own jukebox set up running the XSPF Web Music Player:
an an open source flash-based web application that uses xspf playlist format to play mp3 songs. XSPF is the XML Shareable Playlist Format. The software is written in Actionscript 2.
Is this gonna take off, or what?
