Weblogs Among Most Popular Sites on the Web

I’ve just had an eye-opening look at the Alexa Top 100: most popular English language sites on the web! (compare with the Global Top 500)

Who would’ve guessed that Xanga would rank 12th! (i.e. 25th overall)

Having a blog service rank that high says a great deal about how far weblogs have come these days.

The fact that Xanga blows away the likes of Blogpot (64th and 136th overall) and Typepad (711th overall) I would never have dreamt.

Mind you, I find Yahoo at the top quite surprising too.
